Position:

Senior Software Developer

Description:

Responsible for the development of professional software solutions for the customers of Innovative Computer Systems, Inc.

Organization:

The Senior Software Developer operates under the general direction of the Software Division Director.

Requirements:

  • Four year degree in Management Information Systems or related field or an ICS approved combination of experience and education/training 
  • Minimum five years of experience designing and developing professional Microsoft .NET applications with a solid understanding and background in the following technologies;  MS .Net framework (3.5 or above), Entity Framework, ADO.Net,  Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Communication Foundation, Silverlight, ASP.Net
  • Minimum of three years of experience with SQL 2005/2008; Basic administration; T-SQL; Reporting Services; Integration Services; Analysis Service.
  • Experience with/ exposure to XML and XML techniques
  • Experience identifying, documenting and executing project test scenarios
  • Experience identifying, documenting and communicating project risks
  • Flexibility in taking on a variety of projects & ability to work on your own in a fast-paced environment that is always changing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • At least three years of project management experience
  • Business Analysis experience working with clients on loosely planned projects and specifications
  • Experience documenting projects, creating statements of work and generating project proposals
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is a plus
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s license and a driving record, background check and references deemed acceptable by ICS

 

Essential Functions:

  • Work with the software team to develop professional, quality software solutions for our customers using Microsoft technologies
  • Lead a team of developers
  • Ability to understand existing projects and solutions and take responsibility to upgrade and improve to make sure they meet the high level of quality required by our customers
  • Meet all project deadlines on or under budget
  • Provide proper written and verbal communication to your team and division leader regarding project status
  • Be proactive in identifying project risks and problems and escalate to the proper people before they become critical.
  • Work with the VP of Application Platform Group and the on resource planning and project scheduling.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Timely arrival and departure from work assignments
  • Ability to work as a positive productive member of work groups and  to implement ICS time tracking system (training provided)
  • Ability to successfully pass recommended exams and certifications, maintaining thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and processes.
  • Ability to successfully complete both Company and individual goals set by the Division Director
  • Respectable appearance and approach to work at all times
  • Ability to communicate effectively and completely with clients, coworkers and supervisors
  • Ability to set realistic deadlines, meet them and be proactive in uncovering and resolving issues in each project as they relate to the set deadlines
  • Able to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks as assigned
  • Able to implement the company mission and vision
  • Completes testing prior to delivery to ensure that the solution works in accordance with client specifications.
  • Participates in the identification of any technological training opportunities to enhance job performance. 
  • Recommends technology and tool upgrades to ensure that the ICS staff stays ahead of the technology curve
  • Understands and is able to follow all ICS protocols, guidelines, procedures and policies
